Going back to Cali.....Trip to Palm Springs

So a couple weeks ago, we visited Grandma and Grandpa Friedman in Palm Springs for 4 days. There is something about getting outside of the airport and seeing palm trees and snowcapped mountains in the same view. We all know how Anthony feels about palm trees. Nevertheless, we spent a lot of time reading and and swimming and sunbathing by the pool. We went to a flea market and we also did some shopping.

Grandma drove the rented Lincoln to Cabazon so we could check out the outlets.

Yes, the mother load. A Donney and Bourke outlet.....man it has been soooooo long since we saw one of those (February in San Juan).

Amy and Grandma couldn't find anything that they "had to have" so we moved on.

It is super huge and we walked the whole mall. This picture doesn't do it justice...

We drove back and were super tired, so more reading and swimming.

Every year we see the windmill farms, we say how cool they are.....and still to this day as they continue to add hundreds everywhere, it is super cool.

This is the view from our patio/kitchen. Very peaceful.

Grandpa was watching the news and the healthcare debate was ongoing while we were down there.

At the airport going home, we saw some weird stuff. This ram was interesting and kind of cool.......

but is this necessary? I think not!

Also, very few people in the world would sport this plaid outfit. Amy and I weren't the only ones chuckling when we saw it.

awwwww!

Our good friend, Sommer, has the cutest dog in the world. She sent us an email earlier today:

Subject: Go Huskies

Message: So I am not much of a sports fan, but my husband is and he is a Husky by proxy. And so is our Baby!

Attachment: Below...

SO CUTE!!!

Last 18 days.......busy, busy, busy

Well, it has been a long time since our last blog post. We have since taken up Hot Yoga at Hot Yoga of Kirkland. Needless to say, going from very little physical activity to 3 days a week (90 minutes per class) has been a daunting addition to our schedules. It was so much easier to come home, maybe sit on the couch, eat dinner, be lazy, kill the DVR and library movies, etc.....Ahhhhh. Memories! Nevertheless, we will get back to posting updates asap.

In the meantime, Anthony's newest lunch obsession is Jimmy John's. He used to go there every few weeks but the closest location was on 1st and Yesler and parking was a pain. Well, there is a new location that opened just north of Buffalo next to Krispy Kreme. Parking is great and the sandwiches are THE BOMB! So visiting JJ's twice a week is a normal occurence these days. Pictures of the store just before they opened are below.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! #3 totally tuna, no sprouts, no cucumbers, add provolone, add peppers! Delicous! Their napkins say "WIPE", that's Amy's favorite part... Plus their delivery peeps have these awesome jackets that say "Jimmy Johns" .....well duh, maybe that is over the top. But seriously, they are cool. I want one. Can I buy a franchise, stick it across the street from Buffalo? Nah, not until we pay off more of our house. But one day.......

No more condo

Now you see it..... Now you don't!
We rented the condo out to a nice man for a year. Yay for us!

Collin's 1st Birthday

We drove up to Ferndale to celebrate with Maureen, her family, John his family and of course Collin. After lunch, it was present time. Collin had fun opening presents.
He loved chewing on this giraffe.

He also is a big fan of cellular phones.

We had cake which was super funny because....
At first Collin didn't know what to do with the cake and was crying.
But his grandma came to the rescue and fed him with a spoon. He was much happier and enjoyed his first sugar high!

Someone got him bubbles and Amy and Collin played.

Birthday cards are very tasty.
Not sure what this face meant.
This was a truck that made noises. We gave it to him.
What a cute look.
First Anthony gave Jon a break from feeding duties, then it was Amy's turn.
After getting all cleaned up, Amy and Collin flipped thru a book.
Almost everyone at the party played with the balloons at least for a while and Collin was no different. Playing bonk was a fun game!

Tour of our condo in PR and flying home

This is our living room. There was a couch here too, that we had to put back. Not a huge tv, but it worked. Bringing our portable DVD player was a great idea!
Here is our small kitchen.
Amy and Anthony's room.
And our bathroom.
We had a small desk area in the entry that was used for drying clothes, laundry, etc.
This was the spare bedroom that was never used much.

Our dining area and halls....
Heather and Jason's room.
View from the exterior while it was raining the last night.
24 Atlantic....

It was sad taking Heather and Jason to the airport.
Heather seemed sad too, but all good things must come to an end.
We gassed up the car and saw this lovely car on the street. Many cars were beaten up down here.
KITTY!
Amy loved the pictures in the condo and here was one of them.
The bug bites were pretty devastating.
Yep, we counted 40 on Anthony....very difficult to not itch.
He used this cream like crack! But whatever helped.
