Oakland....ugh, well at least Anthony can see another stadium

So Anthony went to the Bay Area for business and just happened to plan it around Opening Day when the Mariners would begin their 2010 season in Oakland. This is the above street walkway from the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Station to the stadium. Looks like a prison.

As far as the stadium, it was explained by Oakland residents that AL Davis owner of the Oakland Raiders built an addition to this stadium to get more seats for football games. So the addition is all concrete and named "Mt. Davis." Looks ugly, but it does the trick.

The Athletics draw such few fans that they put tarps over the upper deck seats much like the Mariners had to do in the 80's and 90's.

Opening Day! That is our starting lineup. One more year for Junior.

And it was such a treat to see Felix start! He is awesome! Happy Felix Day!

The NCAA Championship was today as well. With Duke winning it all, it was just another thing to make me happy!

Support Duke and the Mariners in 1 night was tough.....

But winning both games was rewarding as well!

The next day Anthony drove to San Jose and Fresno to see customers and then returned to Oakland.

I saw a lot of lush green trees and a lot of water. The Bay Area is awesome!

Along the way, I saw some interesting city names.....

And.....

Heading to the second game of the year, I noticed this dude's jeans.....patterns on the back pockets must be in...in the hood that is.

Another great game, though we lost in extra innings. I took Ken Schulz from Superior Thrift in Stockton to the game. He is a big A's fan so was happy to say the least.

DDDFBL Draft

What happens when you are approaching baseball season and have 6 guys, 5 laptops and even 1 person drinking beer at 10am? That's right a Fantasy Baseball Draft! My team is currently in 3rd place but leading the world in scoring!

Passover 2010

Well earlier in April we celebrated Passover for 2 nights. While there were different people in attendance each night, it was a night filled with lots of food, a new homemade Haggadah and of course wine/beer. That guy could use a drink, huh? Just kidding Uncle Rob....but really.

Not a bad view. They could sure use blinds in there cause when it is sunny it is miserable. But Seattle in April is normally quite predictable.

Cherry Blossoms

As is tradition, it was time for our annual visit to the quad at UW to see the cherry trees in bloom. We were a little late to the party, but they were still worth seeing this year... next year we'll have to see them a little earlier to get a higher ratio of bloom to tree action...

Lynnette's Baby Shower!!

Amy's dear friend, Lynnette, is expecting a little baby girl any day now. Baby Remember, AKA Remi or Baby Ber, is under strict orders not to come early...


A little while back Lynnette's friends threw her a baby shower up in Bellingham. These pictures got posted out of order, but since it's already been a while since these were taking, in the interest of time, let's just go with it :) It will be fun!


Here's the mama to be... with me, Amy... isn't she glowing? :) Whatever that really means... I think she just looks as beautiful as ever!

At the end of the shower the hosts had a special surprise. Their church group got together and found a sweet stroller for Lynnette... what a wonderful gift!
Lynnette is really not a fan of few things... one is being the center of attention. The other is opening gifts in front of other people... too bad she had to do both for this occasion... but she did great! See... she looks like she's having fun, right?

Strawberry Shortcake! No Way!!

Lynnette's roommate, Barby, and her daughter, Violet, picked this out for little Baby Ber...

No shower is complete until someone gifts the best swaddle cloth ever... as Lynnette is about to open below. Mad props to Heather for letting me in on that little secret.
Did we mention that Lynnette is gonna try to go with cloth diapers... good luck lady :)
There are some pretty cute things out there for babies mamas... this is a little kit of everything baby needs for a matching outfit!
And some of the cutest little bags ever made an appearance at the shower... with matching cards!
Oh yeah, there are super cute clothes for babies too...
And no shower is complete without some humiliation... as evidenced by the diaper results below... that's Amy on the far left... voted sexiest diaper btw... not a lot of other ladies modeling their diaper in stilettos...Oh no, a close up...And the front view...Fun was had by all! What a lovely event.


Remi... we can't wait to meet you!!!

the cutest thing that Mute does...

she's a terrorist, the little girl, but she does the cutest thing. most of the time she's a diva and she can't be bothered with you, but then she has these moments where she can't be without you. she starts meowing like mad, which is crazy cuz she's typically rather quiet (almost mute)... but she whines and rubs on your leg for attention, and if she can't get to you to touch you, she just stays near you and whines...

and then, you put out your hand...

just about 6 inches above her - you see, she is short, so you can hold your hand maybe a foot and a half off the ground while sitting in a chair... she'll come over to you, look up at your hand, whine, then put all of her weight onto her back feet, push herself up to stand on two legs and ram her head into your hand.

PET ME!!

meow!!

and it's not a fluke thing, she'll keep doing it till she gets bored with you, which surprisingly can take a while... sometimes you have to wiggle your fingers to get her attention again… but she loves it.

and that is the cutest thing Mute does...
