Vegas with Acostas and Stewarts

Amy's had two best girlfriends since high school, Heather and Maureen.  We've wanted to all go on a trip for some time now, and it finally happened!  We all met up in Vegas (or as Jason calls it, Vegoose!) for 4 days of sun and fun.  Please enjoy our gigantically long post...

Once Maureen, Jon, Anthony and Amy arrived at the hotel, we had to get lunch.  What better to start with than a giant snickers milkshake?

Later we all went to the pool.  Unfortunately Anthony was having some trouble with his contact lens/eye, so he finally had to take a moment to relax out of the pool.  We put Amy's scarf over his eye so he could stop squinting and start looking more like a pirate...

After our pool time, we got ready to go to The Fix at Bellagio for dinner.  Anthony and Amy had a tasty tuna dish over blue cheese grits.  Pretty tasty.  The fish actually tasted like steak, that's how good it was.

Maureen and Jon enjoying their Kobe Sliders.

Heather and Jason doing the same.

Not sure what these two clowns are doing...

No night at the Bellagio is complete without a Bellagio Fountain Show!  Anthony proposed to Amy right on this very spot nearly 3 years ago at the time this photo was taken.

Still as beautiful as we remember it...

After a fountain show or two, we took a walk to The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, saw part of a really lame free show, toured and art gallery, and checked out some really cool fish in a huge aquarium.  Later we got back to the hotel.  Anth, Jon and Jason were gonna hit the tables.  Heather was exhausted (silly pregnant lady needed extra rest, what's that about?), and Maureen was dying to take a bath in the luxourious hotel tub.  Amy was going to join the guys but made the mistake of sitting on the bed too cool her barking dogs, realized how comfortable the bed was and almost passed the eff out!  Time for some reading and sleeping, fo sho.

The next morning, after breakfast, we all hit the pool.  We all spend some time reading...

and some time in the pool too.

Later, we headed over to Japonaise for dinner.  Here you can see our himachi appetizer... SO good!

Also had to try the Ahi Tuna entree - who says tuna 2 nights in a row is too much?

And when you are doin' dinner up right, you've gotta try dessert!  This is a pineapple mouse cake, SO good!

The view as we headed to the tram to take us to the Mirage so we could see...

Mystere!

The show was great, so many awesome things to see.  You almost have to go back and see Cirque shows again because there is so much going on, you could watch it all again and find all new things you missed the first time.  These people are amazing and we highly recommend the show... despite some of the scary costumes, and this scary snail at the end...

After another night of hitting the tables and sleeping it off, we had a nice breakfast and headed to the pool again.

Girl photo op!
Group photo op!

Bird photo op!  (Amy always takes pictures of the birds begging for food on our trips... silly girl)

No trip would be complete without Anthony doing some work... even on vacation he's a wee bit addicted to his cell phone... maybe he shouldn't ever get an iPhone... he'll never get off the thing!

Time for more swimming...

and "photo opping"

and cooling off in the pool...

and more "photo opping"

oh!  and of course, sleeping!

Here is the "steak carpet" on the way back to our rooms from the pool... we think it's supposed to look like stones, but Amy kept seeing steaks...

Elevator group photo op!

Here's the butterfly artwork Amy loved... she pretended the butterflies weren't real...

Another night, another meal!  But not just any meal... a Bobby Flay meal!  That's right, we all went for dinner at Mesa Grill!  Hells to the Yeah!

Mesa Effing Grill, Motha Bias!

With so many great dishes to choose from, Amy and Anth skipped straight to entrees, three of them, with the first as our appetizer.  Chile Rellano!!  So worth paying for now that Amy has made them and hated every minute of the process...

Amy ordered the Green Chile Chipino - the best chipino she's ever tasted... as you can tell from the results...

that plate was clean, yo!

Anth went with the special of the day, the Hot and Spicy Grouper.  So good!

Ok, so maybe it's a little tacky to take pictures of your food, but we always do... and as we did, these Bias next to us started making Bia-like comments.  Amy wanted to go over and have a chat with them, but she was stuck in the middle of the booth and couldn't throw down at Bobby Flay's... until next time, motha bias.

Another group photo op - not as many as we'd like, but we did ok...

Everything about the Wynn is so beautiful.  This is one of the fountains outside.

And this is what greets you as you enter, so pretty!

Thanks to Vegas and our wonderful friends for all of the memories!
