Puerto Rico 2/16 in Old San Juan
So this day we went to Old San Juan. After again not finding a parking spot for a long time, we found one by the fort. A hella sketch guy said cost is $5.00. So Anthony went to get change and paid him. We were parked in a school bus zone. Seemed sketch, but whatever. Anyways, skipping forward, we finish at the fort and Jason sees a cop car, runs over to him and says What's up? The guy gave us a ticket for like $100 but Jason said we were tourists, told the cop the story and he said he would take care of it if we moved the car. Phew! Good move by J to save some skrilla.
This was the cemetary right near the fort.
Jason and his fear of heights conquered this by climbing on the wall and jumping around.
Amy absolutely loved this building. The color was amazing.
Here is the fort.
Yes, Amy hearts this place, lots.
Heather and Jason played in this guard house by the fort.
Heather Aise is so funny.
Giant doors protecting the fort's entrance.
Jason and Amy were tired and didn't care about the fort. So Heather and Anthony paid the $3 each to go in.

Look how Gi-normous this wall was. Not bad without cranes or bulldozers. Bet it took a while to build.
We saw this cool model of the fort and Heather made a funny face.
I thought this door was sick looking. Cool shape!
Sneak attack picture of the 2 who didn't go in the fort.
The backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean made a cool looking contrast to the cool red dome.
Pretty girls! Glad they are Jason and Anthony's!
So way in the top right corner is where our car was illegally parked. Is that a huge grassy knoll or what?
Blooming Onion, eat your heart out. This crazy statue looks like a ton of onion rings stacked on top of each other.
We went shopping at Coach and Dooney and Bourke. Jason and his pink MURSE (Man Purse).
Strike a pose! That bag really goes with my eyes.
Amy and Heather ended up buying bags at Dooney and Bourke and got excellent deals since it was from their outlet store and because they were having a Red White and Blue sale.
Anthony thought this was a cool shot. The different colored buildings were neat looking.
This was the last store we went into before lunch. Note Heather's expression "Need lunch NOW!"

Puerto Rico: much relaxing and beach
After waking up around 10:40am, we had breakfast and everyone read books in the living room. Amy took a nap, Anthony went on the computer and Heather and Jason went to the beach. Amy and Anthony joined the Aises around 2:30 pm at the beach. Everyone took in some Vitamin D. The waves were huge and there was a lot of surfing, body boarding and falling down. People watching was the highlight. We even saw a boom box that was inset into a cooler.
This is Heather... what you can't see is the tiny strip of her arm that did not get sunscreen on it... we found that little prize later... sorry Heather...
Tough life Mr Ayse has. This was after he pushed a bunch of sand under his chair for more support - so smart!

Puerto Rico First Full Day
After getting lost for an hour trying to find Enterprise, we dropped off our rental car because it made a horrible noise only when turning left....not that it is such a huge deal or anything, and exchanged it for a Mitsubishi. Then we got lost trying to find a Radio Shack so we could get a much needed cord to watch DVD's in our condo. With Jason's friend's help, we found it. Then we stocked up on groceries and finally were hungry for lunch.
Everyone felt like ceviche and it was delicous! Amy and Anthony shared a seafood ceviche and a Peruvian Mussel dish.
We ate with Jason's friend who lives in San Juan named Soli and her husband Roberto.
She then drove us along the beach to a Panneria/bakery. Note the on duty cops below....yep, tough job.
Heather thought this pink house was super cute. It was right across the street from the bakery.
We finally changed and went to the beach. It got dark pretty quick because we didn't make it out until after 4:30pm.
Jason enjoyed the Atlantic Ocean.
Not anymore.
Everyone was laughing (even Heather) since she couldn't quite get up in time before another wave came in.
Haha! Silly ocean. Atlantic 1, Heather 0. You'll also note that there are no sunglasses on Amy's head... yep, the ocean ate them. Atlantic 1, Amy 0.
Jason getting engulfed by a wave.
Jason all done for the day.
Cute.
We showered up, got in the car and ventured out to Old San Juan. Being that it is a long weekend (Presidents Day), everyone was out and about. We were in a traffic jam forever and finally ditched surface streets for the freeway. We of course got lost again until we found a killer street parking spot for free. We had a short walk to the Parrot Club (recommended by Stephanie and Google). Amy was told by Steph to order this special drink called a "caipirinha".
Anthony ordered a tasty drink called a Cocotini which even had coconut chunks on top.
Heather partook in a Pina Colada sin Alcohol. Jason sported a diet Coke.
We are gorgous BTW.
Jason got a chicken dish that looked awesome.
I ventured into new territory and got a Pumpkin filled Gnochi. Given the hatred of potato gnochi this was a test. And it was a tasty reward too.
Beautiful Heather ordered the same dish as Anthony.
And the purple princess Amy got the "Plantain encrusted dorado": Mahi Mahi con aji amarillo beurre blanc y peruvian potatoes. It was awesome for sure. Her favorite dish of the whole trip!
