Kitties meet Brelsfords

Today Amy brushed the kittens' teeth and then I gave them a bath. They do not like it at all, but they accept it. (Look, she's meowing in this one... she doesn't Meow much... normally)
Sark whines the whole time (which isn't really that new because he whines all the time for no reason, big whiner!!), and today escaped the shower when Amy was taking pictures (sorry, I was trying not to get the camera wet, and he is a ninja!).

The saddest part is they get cold because we let their shampoo set for 10 minutes and they shiver. So whoever bathes them tries to hold them and hug them and keep them warm. Warning, there is lots of skin in the next picture but nothing XXX (when I took this one, I really thought it would never get posted because SOMEONE said "it's not going on the blog or anything"...).
Then after that, Norman and Lynn came over. Sark warmed to Norman quickly (hard to see, but Sark hearts Grandpa Norman! And Sark takes a while to warm up to new folks too!).

They love the new blanket that Lynn brought over. It is a Raffie blanket. How awesome is that?! (Super awesome!)
They are so cute and sweet! (Aww! They are hugging it out!)
Awwwww. (he was probably about to lick her or just finishing a lick... he hearts cleaning fur!)

Business trip in Boise

Early this week I went on another business trip. This time to Boise. All was great and when I arrived to my hotel (Double Tree) at check in I asked the front desk manager if they could upgrade my room for free. She gave me a "JUNIOR" suite.
I was surprised when I walked in.... Huge room that was pretty fancy for Boise (no offense Boiseans).
Look at the size of this tub. There was no plug, so not sure if it really is a tub but the shower worked and it was nice to have so much area to get clean.

The next night, I drove to Twin Falls early in the morning. Driving east to the sunrise was a pleasure.
When I entered Twin Falls, they had a "scenic viewpoint" which was awesome. Normally these are pretty whack, but this area where you can see the Snake River was beautiful.
To enter the city there is this large bridge.
It was overall a good trip. After Twin Falls, I continued to Pocatello where I did business, had a 6" subway and got my tail back to Boise. I got on an earlier flight by 3 hours to get home quick.
As nice as Idaho is.....I love being home!

Worst Seahawk game ever

This was one of the more important Seahawk games in a long time....everyone was amped up to get started. BTW, pink was for breast awareness which is why the Seagirls are dressed that way. Well, without getting to into it....our punter was our MVP. He had the longest pass of the day and had many punts like below.
It was the worst rushing day in team history (10 yards) and we lost 27-3. PATHETIC.

Amy's 10 year Reunion....Have a Hoot!

Amy's 10 year High School Reunion came and went and it was at Muckleshoot Casino (Have a hoot at the Muckleshoot... or not...). We got all dressed up (much more than most of the other attendees might I add....jeans and baseball caps don't constitute as "cocktail attire" but that is neither here nor there) and ventured to Auburn (not Mukilteo where some of us though the Muckleshoot was...). The Stewarts and Amy and I basically hung out together the whole time. Things got goofy a couple drinks in...again.... (I'm sure Maureen is SO happy this photo made it onto the blog... better this than a candid shot of her using the wall to help her walk... Needless to say she had a walking buddy for the rest of the night...)
But overall it was an interesting night. (Fun, awkward, but fun :))

I am sure this will be the same picture in 10 more years....but hopefully some tall Canadian girl and our favorite Mexican friend will be with us too! :-) (we heart them!)

Happy Hour at Pearl

We wanted to try out Pearl because it is supposed to be Bellevue's new cool place to go. Their Happy Hour has 1/2 off their whole bar menu. We had 3 drinks (Blackpearl Martini....ARRRRRRRR, 4 appetizers (you must try the fried Beecher's cheese and seared ahi)and the total bill was less than $50. The place has kind of a swanky feel and it was fun.We went with our (formerly Bellingham) friends from Ferndale Jon and Maureen. As you can see, Maureen got quite giggly. Amy, Jon and Maureen all enjoyed their Shiso Wild Drop drink.

Shout out to Stephanie.....below is her signature pose.

Battle Soup: Sommer vs Amy

The second ever cook off at Kirkland was another too close to call event..... I was disqualified for providing "store bought" appetizers. Still am hearing about that one....but really, appetizers have nothing to do with battle soup, so I still feel ok about it.
Amy fixed us up with some of her famous asaparagus soup.

Sommer made borscht.
Both were delicious and felt wonderful to eat since it is getting cold outside quickly. We love soup season.

Amy's was creamy and Sommer's had some kick. Too close to call.
Nick provided 2 kinds of bread for dipping in the soups courtesy of Macrina bakery on 1st Ave South. A lady there offered her 2 opinions on what to get.

Nick listened to her which seemed reasonable. One loaf was excellent and the other, not so much. Nick should take that loaf to the bakery and tell them to just discontinue production. Really.
The good bread had a piece that looked much like a whale....sort of.

Then like always, everyone chilled on the stairwell with the kittens.
When there is a super small area to climb into, no one is better then Mute at getting hidden in a closet, on a tuner or wherever no other living thing (sans bugs) in our house can fit. Seriously there is not a lot of space between those shelves and she is on top of a couple of flip flops.

Seahawks Shalacking over Jaguars

After an amazing Win yesterday for the Huskies over Arizona, it was time for the Seahawks to show what they could do. AMy and I were in Grandpa's seats and had an excellent view of the pregame introductions. Taima flew out right towards us. There he is on some guy's arm
He is Amy's favorite part of the game!

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUSH! He had an excellent game and his first 2 TD's as a Hawk. Nicky D would be proud!
Owen Schmidt hit himself in the head 3 times with his own helmet right before this picture.
Matt was back after 2 weeks off with 2 broken ribs. The stadium went crazy when he came out. He threw 4 touchdowns and over 250 yards and only played in 3 quarters.

We had fun and got our share of vitamin D too.
41-0....3rd largest deficit in a shutout in Seahawk history. Man, 2-3 feels so much better than 1-3. Next week: bring on Arizona.

SUSHI @ RIKKI RIKKI

After much discussion, we finally made it to a sushi restaraunt. We went to Rikki Rikki in Kirkland and it was awesome awesome! We tried 2 sushi items and 1 BBQ Salmon roll. Our favorite by far was the salmon sushi pictured below.
Below are the spicy tuna rolls.

Amy and I were out celebrating with Paul

and his new fiance Karly.

It was super fun seeing them and celebrating. They get married next May 30th.

Kitten update

Well, we are all sad that Mariners baseball is over, especially Sark and I. But everyone is doing pretty well overall.

We all have been quite tired.
They both fell asleep on my couch during the Husky game.

Get away from me Paparazii!

Ah, how sweet.
Here is a close up of Mute.

They represent the Seahawks with that blanket and watched UW. Huge sports fans.

Sark and I in the sun.....

Sark's close up! Best picture of him yet....

Sark and Mom!

Ok, now you are all updated.....vet visits to end soon hopefully. We have to bathe them twice weekly with special shampoo. But it makes them so damn soft!
