June 8th, 2013
On Saturday June 8th, Xander had his 2nd birthday party at his house. Many family and friends were in attendance and we hope that a good time was had by all. There were pizzas and yummy snacks, and of course chocolate cake. The most important thing that was missing was Xander's Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma Brelsford had been diagnosed with lung cancer and had just had a chemotherapy treatment the week before, so she was unable to attend the festivities. But we know if she could have, she and Grandpa would have joined us.
You know Great Grandma Sandy was there because Xander got to play with her cane - one of his favorite things...
Uncle Jeremy and Auntie Samara were there - Uncle Jeremy really loves giving this little guy good hugs...
Uncle Matt and Auntie Julie were there - and Beckley was too, but he was still in Auntie Julie's belly...
Matt and Xander always have a good time when they are together...
Xander did pretty well in the present department - he has a lot of generous family and friends...
The Great Grandparents were there along with many other loved ones...
We took the opportunity to get all the Benezra (and Famularo) men in one photo (Uncle Jeremy, Great Uncle Mark, Great Papa Ray, Pappu Larry, Uncle Jason and Dada with Xander)
We liked this artistic shot of Mark, Papa, Larry and Xander... or should we say, Russel Wilson...
Xander got to blow out his candles with Papa Ray, Grandpa Henry and Dada...
Then got some quality time in with cane... we mean, Great Grandma Sandy...
As Dada tried to feed cake to Xander, Xander wanted to feed himself, except there was no cake on his fork... he didn't seem to mind tho...
He managed to have a bite (he's not huge on sweet things and cakes)...
Then he found his baby comb from his toy stash upstairs and started playing his rub-the-comb-into-my-hair-so-it-stays game where once it is stuck in his hair, he tries to shake it out and laugher ensues...
Uncle Wil was there with Auntie Laura - see, Wil not only holds babies, but he holds small children... he's making strides since Xander first met him fo sho... good thing cuz he and Auntie Laura are expecting!
No photo shoot would be complete without Dada throwing Xander into the air somewhere... Who knew Seahawks could fly like that!?
Family shots were hard to get because Xander was so hot, red and tired by the time the party was over... but this one turned out pretty well...
And this one too...
And this one...
Mama loves the shots with Xander on her shoulders...
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Xander, and thank you all again for being so generous and giving Xander such awesome toys to play with and learn from.
Lastly - a major shout out to Eliza Truitt and Eliza Truitt Photography - all these photos are courtesy of her. Thank you for helping is document important moment like these!
